My sister Melissa had a new baby on Sunday, thus, Aunt Ewee and I took Haylie off her hands for the afternoon today. It was fun to spend some time with the Hayster. We ate lunch and played at the park. We had a picnic and then played on the playground toys. Haylie is a big fan of swings.
There was just enough wind to fly a kite. I forgot how much fun it is to fly a kite. It reminds me of the Mary Poppins song, "Let's go fly a kite!" Auntie Ewee and I finally got the kite in the air (I forgot how to get it in the air for a minute). We asked Haylie if she wanted to fly the kite, to which she replied yes. Haylie flew the kite for a few minutes all by herself and she did very well for her first time flying. When she saw the kite in the air, she exclaimed, "I want to fly!" meaning she wanted to be in the air. It was pretty funny.
