On an Island in the Sun

Our family has returned from the beautiful islands of Hawaii and I think I have found a great place to go on vacation! I loved the island and the relaxed feeling there. People were very friendly to us and I can see why this place is a vacation destination.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was the Shave Ice from Matsumoto's in Hale'iwa. I chose the flavor of Lilikoi and let's just say YUM! We snorkeled at Shark's Cove, went to world-famous Waikiki Beach, the Laie Temple grounds, the Swap Meet at Aloha Stadium, Pali Lookout, Pearl Harbor, and the Polynesian Cultural Center. That was a pretty cool experience.

I loved the country rather than the city and next time I go, I think I would stay somewhere on the North Shore or near Laie. Nonetheless, it was a great trip and I had a good time.
ALOHA!

Where in the world is...

After only one form lost, several months of preparation, and a lot of waiting I have FANTASTIC NEWS!! I have received my mission call to serve in the Argentina Resistencia Mission.

I will be speaking in church on Sunday, 19 November 2006.

I will enter the Provo MTC Wednesday, 29 November 2006.

I want to take this great opportunity to bear my testimony. I am giving 18 months of my life for something and someone I love and believe in, my Savior Jesus Christ and His church. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one true church on the earth, that it was restored through the power of the priesthood by Joseph Smith the Prophet. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God and that it is a true book. I know that families can be together forever and I'm so glad I get to be with mine forever. I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and for his atoning sacrifice that he made for all mankind. I know that Gordon B. Hinckley is the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator called to lead and direct us today. I'm so grateful for my family and friends who have loved and supported me and my decision to serve the Lord. I hope that I can be the missionary that Heavenly Father would want me to be and I'm so excited and grateful for this opportunity. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Wowser, I think my call will be here tomorrow! However, I am going to wait to open it because my sister and bro-in-law are out of town until Sunday night. I figure I have waited this long, what's another couple of days? This is something that I want to share with my family and close friends, so I want them to be with me when I open it. So, keep your fingers crossed that the call gets here...my next posting hopefully will be a destination!
